Regular routine of great meals, work shifts, exercise, and personal practice time.
This evening there was a great recital by the Motor City Brass Quintet recital at Trinity Church in Lenox, MA.
Tonight there was an Emerson String Quartet concert at Ozawa Hall. Program: Haydn - Quartet No. 67, Op. 77, No. 2, Bartok - Quartet No. 6, Schubert - Quartet No. 15 in G, D. 887
July 13
Large Programs Day 10
Regular routine of great meals, work shifts, exercise, and personal practice time.
This evening there was a Vento Chiaro Wind Quintet recital at Trinity Church in Lenox, MA.
Tonight there was a TMC Vocal and Chamber Music concert at Ozawa Hall.
There was also a Yoga for Musicians class from 7-8pm at the Lively Stones building.
July 14

Regular routine of great meals, work shifts, exercise, and personal practice time.
This evening the BUTI Student Life staff ordered food and dessert from Friendly's to have a farewell meal with Brian Samble (he leaves tomorrow for his next job in Tennessee).
Tonight Nicolaj Znaider (violin) & Saleem Ashkar (piano) performed at Ozawa Hall. Program: Beethoven - Sonata No. 8 in G for violin and piano, op. 30, Schumann - Sonata No. 2 in D minor for violin and piano, op. 121, Franck - Sonata in A for violin and piano.
July 15

Today the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Piano Program had their second recital at the West Street Theater.
Tonight the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Wind Ensemble had a concert, conducted by David Martins, at Ozawa Hall. Program: Fulton - Junk Pop (TMC Fellow Commissioned Work), Maslanka - Symphony No. 4, Jager - Esprit de Corps, Wilby - Dawn Flight, Epstein - bloom for English Horn and wind ensemble (feat. Robert Sheena, English Horn, Boston Symphony)
July 16

Regular routine of great meals, work shifts, exercise, and personal practice time.
In the morning the Young Artists Piano Program continued their recital series at the West Street Theater.
Today the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Orchestra had a concert, conducted by Paul Haas, at Ozawa Hall. Program: Revueltas - Sensemaya, Tchaikovsky - Symphony No. 6
Tonight there was a Boston Symphony Orchestra Concert at the Tanglewood Shed. Program: All Sibelius - Finlandia, Valse Triste, Violin Concerto (Nicolaj Znaider), Symphony No. 5.
July 17
Large Programs Day 14
Regular routine of great meals, work shifts, church, exercise, and personal practice time.
During the day, the events committee on campus took students on two Harry Potter 7 pt. 2 movie trips to see the finale in reserved theaters.
Today there was also a Boston Pops Concert at the Tanglewood Shed. The program was a Tribute to Cole Porter. Joining the orchestra were Broadway stars Kelli O'Hara and singer/actor Jason Danieley.
Tonight the TMC Orchestra Concert performed at Ozawa Hall. Program: Dukas - The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Kodaly - Hary Janos Suite, Strauss (R) - Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks, Schumann - Symphony No. 2
On a side note, I watched the documentary titled Waiting for "Superman" tonight. I highly recommend this documentary about our nation's public schools to everyone.
Tomorrow starts another exciting week of music and fun at BUTI!
