Large Programs Day 15


Today there was a Chamber Music Recital at Chamber Music Hall on Tanglewood Main Grounds
Tonight in the west street theater there was a lecture presentation by Professor Phyllis Hoffman entitled College 101: The lowdown on applying to conservatories and music schools.


July 19


Large Programs Day 16


Today there was a Chamber Music Recital at Chamber Music Hall on Tanglewood Main Grounds. Program: Music of Bartok, Mozart, and Strauss
Tonight there was a TMC Chamber Music concert in Ozawa Hall


July 20


Large Programs Day 17


Tonight Jean-Yves Thibaudet performed part one of an all-Ravel program on piano at Ozawa Hall. Program: Serenade grotesque, menuet antique, miroirs, sonatine, gaspard de la nuit.
Tonight there was also a Chamber Music Recital at Chamber Music Hall on Tanglewood Main Grounds.


July 21


Large Programs Day 18


Today the main water pipe burst open on a very hot day! :( Fortunately water jugs were delivered to all the dorms around campus.
Tonight Jean-Yves Thibaudet performed part two of an all-Ravel program on piano at Ozawa Hall. Program: Pavane pour une infante defunte, jeux d'eau, menuet sur le nom d'Haydn, valses nobles et sentimentales, prelude; a la maniere de Borodine, a la maniere de Chabrier, le tombeau de Couperin


July 22


Large Programs Day 19


Tonight the Boston Symphony Orchestra performed a concert in the Tanglewood Shed with guest soloist Susan Graham. Program: All-Baroque with arias by Handel and Gluck, plus popular orchestral works by Bach and Rameau.


July 23


Large Programs Day 20


Today students enrolled in session I of the Young Artists Piano Program moved out. :(
This morning there was an open rehearsal of Sunday's BSO program.
Today there was another trip to the BSO Beach & Lake near Tanglewood!
This evening there was a TMC concert at Ozawa Hall. Program: Music of Nielsen and others
Tonight there was also an amazing BSO concert at the Tanglewood Shed with guest soloist Arabella Steinbacher. Program: Stucky - Rhapsodies, Brahms - Violin Concerto, Beethoven - Symphony No. 7

July 24

Large Programs Day 21

Today new students moved in for session II of the Young Artists Piano Program. :)

This morning there was a TMC Chamber Music concert at Ozawa Hall. Program: Music of Beethoven, Poulenc, Schoenberg, and Shostakovich.

Jon Anderson (Senior RA at Lenox 1) led a BUTI hike at Monk's Pond.

There was also a Berry Picking trip this morning.

This afternoon there was a BSO concert at the Tanglewood Shed with returning guest soloist Jean-Yves Thibaudet. All-Ravel Program: Valses nobles et sentimentales, piano concerto in G, piano concerto in D for the left hand, bolero

Tomorrow starts another exciting week of music and fun at BUTI!
