Time to recap!

Workshops Day 2
In addition to the regular routine of great meals, work shifts, exercise, and personal practice time, I sat in and occasionally helped out with the flute workshop. As a BUTI Workshop Alumni from just last year, observing Linda Toote challenge and encourage a fresh batch of flute students brought back very vivid memories. Many of the other RAs who are BUTI alumni are also experiencing these same walks down memory lane. This evening, Linda Toote and her assistant, Ona Jonaityte, performed a great recital of flute duets. It is always exciting to hear my instructor perform and here the raving reviews for other attendees. Tonight, Jon and I hosted "Lifebook Charades" with our floor for congregating hour. Groups of students acted out specific rules and regulations from the BUTI Lifebook without words, only gestures and movements. After the fun, it was time for bed.

Workshops Day 6
Regular routine of great meals, work shifts, exercise, and personal practice time.
This morning, some of the staff and I went to "boot camp" class at the fitness center. It was exhausting as always. During the evening, Mike Roylance performed a tuba recital at Trinity Church in Lenox, MA. That night some of us went to the Earth, Wind, and Fire concert! It was amazing to witness such legends of music in action. After the concert, we returned to campus for the Tangle Mixer! Students socialized in the cafeteria with free snacks, games, and music.

Workshops Day 8
Regular routine of great meals, work shifts, exercise, and personal practice time.
This morning, I helped out again with the flute workshop. This evening, Don Lucas performed an exciting trombone recital at Trinity Church in Lenox, MA. After dinner, one of the students on my floor had an allergic reaction to a bee sting and had to be taken to the hospital. Keeping with BUTI procedure, I followed behind the ambulance to wait with him in the emergency room. Fortunately, he was just fine and we ended up chatting for a few hours before a doctor finally attended to him. We returned to campus just in time for the test fire drill. The entire simulation ran smoothly.

Workshops Day 9
Regular routine of great meals, work shifts, exercise, and personal practice time.
A couple of us went to yoga class at the fitness center this morning. Sadly, there was no faculty recital tonight. However, Jon and I hosted an ice cream social for our floor tonight and they really enjoyed it. While they ate, we played "two truths and a lie" so they could continue to get to know each other. For anyone unfamiliar with this game, we went around in a circle and each person said "two truths and a lie," challenging everyone else to guess which of the three statements was false.
June 29
Workshops Day 10
Regular routine of great meals, work shifts, exercise, and personal practice time.
A group of us went to a very hard spinning class again at the fitness center. This evening, Eric Ruske performed an amazing french horn recital at Trinity Church in Lenox, MA. After dinner, a large group of us went out in Lee and Lenox, MA to celebrate the 21st birthday of another RA staff member. Everyone had a great time!
Phew! Long recap...stay tuned for more BUTI news, events, and daily life!
Until then, good night & good music!
